China to Back Currency with Gold

This seems to be a more reoccurring news feed; China plans to back the Yuan (renminbi) with gold in the near future. Will this isn't headlines news at this point, if it is true, then that is the end of the hegemony for the US dollar. There is no way OPEC would accept dollars over gold. Good bye petro dollar, hello inflation as the world moves to back the Yuan.

Black Ops 2 Review

Black Ops II (2) was pretty much like all the previous Call of Duty launches after stealing the thunder from the Halo crowd; mid-night launch, lots of "leaked" footage, and claims of "biggest pre-order in history" hoopla. And during the launch week, the non-disclosure agreements end and we get flooded with reviews, mostly based on a few hours of gameplay. Weak Sauce. Here is your free, several hours logged review from LP.

Chinese Olympic Training

We'll go ahead and warn you that some of these images are not for the weak of heart. However, if you want to see what it is like in China to train for the Olympics, feel free to click this link and see how they are made. To us, this seems to be the reason that Chinesse participants have no style, just boring unfliching routines.

War on Terror Over?

Seems one of the senior members of the State Department has proclaimed that the 'War on Terror' is over. If so, then Natural News has posted some questions that need to be addressed with the end of this war. Such as; can we eliminate the TSA now? Or the Patriot Act? And a host of other intrusive "security" measures we've enacted over the past deceade?

Sniper Elite V2 Demo

Reposted by Conan for new LP member Nevadarain:

So I downloaded the demo when it became available, but only got around to trying it out last night.

As a qualifier, I played through the mission on the easiest difficulty to get a feel for the game itself, then started it again on the highest to see how different it was. That being said, here are my thoughts, in no particular order:

Terrorists Play CoD

We somewhat doubt this story, but because we pine for it to be true, we're posting it! Hmm, says here that terrorists are actually using video games such as Call of Duty to train these days. Well, it would be cheaper than buying ammo. If this is true, LP has served their country well, as we've pounded plenty of [terrorist] noobs online. Scratch one up for the good guys.

Modern Warfare 3 Review(s)

We are edging close to a month since the highly vaulted MW3 has launched. At minimum, LP staff have collectively put in over a full week of gameplay for MP, although so far as I know, I am the sole player that has beaten the game. So, we figure we have enough data to do a decent review. And speaking for myself, I don't plan to go soft on this review.

Crackback's video game Holiday

One of our editors posted this on his blog: an insider's take on just how --and why -- the second Tuesday of November should be a holiday, and no, it has nothing to do with voting in another charlatan politician. We felt it was just snarky enough to repost here on LP for you to read. And we will have MW3 reviews up in a bit (but not soon as we'll need some time to assess).

Post Launch BattleField 3 Review

Yes, yes, we did a beta review of BF3 and we were negative about it. And frankly, the beta deserved it. However, 4 of our LP members have since bought the game, and we have an updated review for your reading pleasure. These reviews are plucked from our emails and posted here. They are frank and mostly unedited (some personal info removed). So...

Our BattleField 3 Review

We weren't going to do a review, honestly. We played the "true beta" game and figured it just wasn't our cup of tea. No reason to lambast something we weren't going to endorse at launch. But news is surfacing that EA is censoring reviews, so we'll add our two cents now.

Underwhelming "Millionaire Tax"

As you may have heard, Obama and company are pushing for a millionaire tax at the moment. Well, the Congressional Budget Office has released it's assessment of this proposed tax and according to their analysis, it'll bring in ... $453 billion! Oh, sorry, $453 billion over the next 10 years. Or about 4 months worth of an average yearly deficit. Yippie. What else you got, Obama?

Romney in the Lead

Even though Romney is damaged goods, he's still in the lead!

Austria's Fukushima Report

Specialists from Austria are claiming that some of the radiation from the first 3-4 days of the Fukushima meltdown were as high as Chernobyl after 10 days. Meanwhile, several countries are moving their embassies from Tokyo to Osaka. Could use some more truthiness on this radiation issue.

Golfing to Freedom

While Japan was having their worst catastropies since World War II, Obama was out... playing golf? One of our biggest allies has a huge earthquake, an even more devastating tsunami and a nuclear meltdown, and our Commander in Cheif is busy with 18 holes of golf on Saturday. I'll say it: he has no class.

Montage Heyo!

And yet another nice video montage from Buster regarding our flawless CTF game in Black Ops. Who knew that my best acting would come from a playable character in a video game? I smell an Oscar in the wind!

LoudPing Presents...

Another Montage! Now, the point of these is to prove a little geekiness (which doesn't sound good) but also, the budding capabilities of LP staff. One day, we'll make a movie, but until then, enjoy what is presented.

Kinect Review

My pre-ordered Kinect arrived yesterday in a plain brown box belying the huge amount of fun inside.  Read on for my review of the hardware, some opinions about where it needs to go from here, and a short review of Kinect: Adventures, the pack-in game bundled with the Kinect hardware.

Halo: Reach First Thoughts

Halo: Reach is fun, just fun.  All of the reasons to love Halo can be found again in this fantastic swan-song.

Code Speak Revealed

Here is a good article of explanations listing out the code speak Ben Bernanke stated at the recent Jackson Hole Conference. Essentially, it relies on toxic bank assets that will undermine the recovery. Read it to feel enlightened, then scared.
